Srinagar, Aug 28 (KNO): Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani on Thursday said that the flood mitigation plan prepared post 2014-floods in Jammu and Kashmir has not been followed.
Talking to the media persons, Advisor to CM, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that a flood mitigation plan was prepared after the 2014 floods, but it was not followed.
He said that the Chief Minister is himself assessing the mitigation measures and that a renewed plan will be prepared to tackle the flood crisis here.
"Several issues related to the encroachment along the flood channel and other related places will also be looked into," he said while replying to a query.
Furthermore, the Advisor said that the opposition must play a role of constructive opposition. He said that the opposition has been contacted multiple times, but they didn't join hands as they are happy to play only cheap politics.
Also, he said that the Chief Minister has already raised the issue of J&K prisoners at right places including with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. "The opposition should have joined hands to make the voice of the Chief Minister stronger," the Advisor to CM said—(KNO)
